I am the true vine and my Father is the vine grower. He prunes away every barren branch, but the fruitful ones He trims clean to increase their yield … Live on in me and I do in you … I am the Vine and you the branches. He or she who lives in me and I in him or her will produce abundantly, for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:1, 2, 4-5).
This theme of the vine and branches was a focus of the first Dedication Mass at St. John Neumann Parish 30 years before the present church building. We see it represented in the beautiful window that adorns the sanctuary of the current church. Symbolic of our organic connectedness with the Lord Jesus, the vine and the branches theme had been a foundation of the “Building a Legacy of Faith” project. The message of this first window, therefore, is repeated in the remaining seven.
