A statue of St. Maria De Mattias greats everyone who enters the chapel. She is sitting on a bench also sculpted by the artist and beckons you to come sit with her. Behind her a large 10 foot by 10 foot door opens for the ceremonial entrance to the worship space. The center of the stained glass window is a profile of Mary as the New Covenant. The gathering space had been a closed dark narthex. The renovation opened it upwards and outwards. Natural light from skylights bathe the space during the day.
