Our Lady of Fatima Church

Location: Schenectady, NY
Completed: 1998

The Scope of Work for this project included redesign and updating of the worship space in this 1955 building. Although the altar platform area was redesigned in the past, the general character of the space was not an appropriate environment for the worship experience. Spaces for Music Ministry, the sacraments of Baptism and Reconciliation and the Reservation of the Blessed Sacrament were also inappropriate. Improvements to the lighting and sound systems were also required. A new addition provides a large area for Baptisms at the entry to the Worship Space as well as convenient access to new indoor and outdoor gathering areas. The interior was completely redone in the American Prairie style, with new cherry woodwork, porcelain tile floor, new lighting and custom-designed furnishings. This project was completed and rededicated in May 1998. It was featured in the May 2004 issue of Ministry & Liturgy magazine. Architect: James Hundt, Foresight Architects Schenectady, NY
